Our commitment
HearingAids.md is committed to making hearing-health information usable by as many people as possible, including people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, blind or have low vision, use assistive technology, have limited mobility, or have cognitive or learning disabilities.

Measures we aim to support
Accessibility is an ongoing practice. We aim to design, write, test, and improve our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our target. Our work includes clear headings and labels, keyboard access, visible focus, sufficient contrast, responsive text and layouts, descriptive links and alternative text, accessible forms, captions and text alternatives where practical, controls that avoid automatic media, plain-language explanations, and comfortable touch targets.
Hearing-specific accessibility
Because our subject is hearing health, we pay particular attention to content that relies on sound. Videos should include synchronized captions, and important spoken information should also be available visually. Audio should not play automatically. Some hearing-test and speech-in-noise activities necessarily use audio and cannot measure the same thing through a silent alternative. For those tools, we provide text instructions, usable controls, volume and environment guidance, and a clear explanation of purpose and limitations.
Current limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet provide an ideal experience for every visitor. Potential limitations may include older articles or third-party media with incomplete captions, transcripts, or alternative text; embedded content supplied by third parties; interactive comparison, search, or hearing-screening components that require additional keyboard, screen-reader, zoom, or mobile improvements; and automatically generated captions that contain errors until corrected.
Compatibility and technical approach
HearingAids.md is designed to work with modern versions of major browsers and commonly used assistive technologies. Older browsers, unsupported operating systems, custom browser settings, or third-party extensions may produce different results. The site relies on standard web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with semantic structure and accessible names, states, and relationships where reasonably possible.
Third-party content and external links
Some pages may link to or embed content from other organizations. We cannot control the accessibility of external websites, video players, documents, advertisements, or third-party applications. We encourage partners and vendors to provide accessible experiences and consider accessibility when selecting or replacing third-party services.

If you have difficulty accessing any part of HearingAids.md, please contact us. Include the page URL, what you were trying to do, what happened or what information you could not access, the browser, device, and assistive technology you were using, and the format or accommodation that would help. Please do not include private medical information.
Ongoing improvement
We review accessibility as the website grows and when major features are added or changed. Our process may include automated checks, keyboard testing, screen-reader review, zoom and reflow checks, caption review, color-contrast testing, and feedback from people with disabilities.
